Life moves fast, and you might miss it if you don’t take a minute to look around. I feel like the older I get, the faster things move. Maybe your experience is similar.

Learning some fundamentals early on is undoubtedly one of the keys to crushing it in your life. Yes, of course, it depends on where you are born, who you are, your parent's jobs, the environment and so on.

But let’s focus on 3 things that, if I knew in my early 20s, would have literally changed my entire life. Luck for you; it’s not too late.

It’s never too late.

So, if you’re someone reading this beyond your 20’s, don’t worry. These 3 things are critical for everyone on planet Earth.

Application to Get Results

I want to touch on a straightforward yet essential item before we get started…

If you’ve been around these posts for a long (thank you), I’m sure you know how necessary action is to move closer toward your goals.

Reading articles like this is great, and I can’t thank you enough for spending your valuable time here (thanks a million!).

But you must apply what you learned to get the most out of anything (not just these epic reads).

It sounds simple because it is.

But not everything you read online will be for you. So my one key takeaway before we get into it is this:

If something resonates with you (meaning you like the idea), take it and run with it. Apply it to your life, tell your friends, and act immediately.

If something doesn’t resonate with you, no problem, move on.

Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude

Your attitude is the number one thing determining where you go in life. And the best news is that you are in complete control of this!

I’ve spoken about one's attitude many times and for good reason.

If you can show up (anywhere) with a positive attitude and ready to learn, you will succeed 10 X more than anyone else.

People who show up with a good attitude to work, school, class, family dinners, drinks with friends, and so on are likeable, remembered, and referred to often.

People with good attitudes understand that learning never ends, no matter how old they are.

They NEVER say - “I know.”

Avoid these two words, like the plague.

Know-it-alls do not have the right attitude.

Showing up with a positive attitude is all and well when things are going well, but what about when you’re strapped in debt, can’t pay for rent, and your car just broke down, which will cost you $2,500?

How are you going to show up, then?

Tough times will show up for everyone, these are the challenges that shape you.

These are also critical times when you must show up at your best—knowing that things will turn around and you will catalyze change.

I understand that sometimes you’ll have a bad day (I’ve been there many times). But don’t let these down days determine your attitude for weeks, months, or years.

Show up to everything you do prepared, on time, and ready to go.

Your attitude determines your altitude in all different facets of life.

Focus on Wealth NOW

When is it too early to start investing in your financial intelligence?

Well, the answer I have is it’s never too early.

Financial intelligence is the ability to understand how money works and how to manage it in your life.

The key things that are not covered in our educational system.

These skills will most definitely shape the rest of your life.

If you have kids and they understand the basics of saving a certain amount of money to buy something they want, such as a bike, or toy, this is a great start.

Wealth is critical to everyone (even if you were told at a young age that money isn’t important).

The sooner you learn about assets, liabilities, investing, budgeting, money mindset, and giving back, the sooner you will skyrocket your income, savings, and net worth.

If you’re looking for a great foundational place to start, check out my book Optimal Wealth. It focuses on breaking the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle on your way to financial freedom.

It frustrates me that the younger generation is never taught the foundation of money and how it works. Most adults are clueless about it to this day.

Most of the world lives paycheck to paycheck and are strapped with debt for most of their lives. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Take time to learn, educate yourself, read, take courses, and learn the importance of wealth.

This will not only positively help your life but also give you the ability to create an even bigger impact in the future.

You Don’t Need All of The Answers

What’s the perfect job? The perfect steps after high school? Don’t you want to know every answer to all of your questions before you take a jump!?

Unfortunately, this is not how it works, and you don’t need to know all the answers before taking on something new.

I moved nearly 4000 kilometres away from my parents, family, and friends at age 18 to fly helicopters. I didn’t know all of the answers, I barely knew any of them!

The unknown is scary, I get it.

But, too many people are waiting for “perfect timing” and a map for an adventure they’ve never taken.

I’ll tell you a secret - that’s the fun of it!

The journey is supposed to be filled with unknowns, changes, challenges, hardships, and exciting, exhilarating moments. That’s the beauty of it.

I hear people in their 20s always looking for the perfect advice on what they should do.

No advice will plan out the perfect life. You need to try, fall, try again, and figure it out along the way.

While I’m not saying you shouldn’t seek mentorship or assistance when diving into something different or new. I know this will help speed up your process, saving you a TON of money and time.

With that being said, you don’t need to know everything or research starting a business for 10 straight years before you put your idea into action.

Just do it.

Go for it and figure it out along the way.

This is what every super successful person does.

They dream, envision, act, and make it work.

Conclusion

While there are millions of posts on what you should do, know, or act at a certain age.

I’m offering a different approach. Giving you 3 key items I wish I had known in my 20s and that I hope for you to know as well.

If you can nail down the fundamentals of your:

-Attitude

-Money

-Answers

You’ll no doubt grow like never before.

How do I know?

Because I’ve implemented all these things and seen life gains like never before.

These things work. I’ve tested them for over 18 years.

So it’s time to get off the couch, off your phone, and get to work.

Invest in yourself, your future, and your life.
